Praksis - Book release: Nature Scribbles and Flesh Reads

Monday, 27 February 2023, 17:00-19:00

This artists’ book arises from collective work conducted in March 2022 during PRAKSIS’s residency 21, Nature Scribbles and Flesh Reads. The book investigates the ways how the human body serves as a measure of the health of the whole environment, which focuses on the idea of porosity: a softening of the boundaries between human and non-human bodies.

What is an environmentally “normal” body? How is that norm established, and by whom? How can relationships of care be fostered between human and non-human bodies? These are the research questions concerned in the publication. During the launch event, the artists will present the book, materials like reflections, artworks, documentation from it, and the thinking behind the book.
